The sea with its twice daily ebb and flow extends 120 miles up the Hudson.  This estuary is singular
for many reasons including the vertical cliffs rising 500 feet above its west shore. These Palisades, line
the west bank from the Fort Lee to Donderberg Mountain.  There the fifteen mile Hudson Highlands
crowd both sides with 1,400 foot heights including Storm King Mountain and Breakneck Ridge  which
form the Highland Gateway.  These pictures were taken in the Highlands stretch of the river.
