Early December was bleak, autumn’s colors were a memory. Then an over night snow changed
the highlands from gray to to sparkling white. Morning clouds moved in diminishing the sparkle
but as evening approached the western sky started opening. Momentary spotlights appeared.
And then, as the patient trees looked on, the setting sun lit this windy highland hilltop with its
fast fading light filtered by the swirling snow.
